Importance of self concept Self concept is how one perceives themselves. Aryee (2012) found transformational leaders who have strong leader member relationships, and understand how they themselves are motivated along with and how their followers are motivated, produce increased employee engagement thereby increasing innovation and higher levels of task performance. Self concept assessments Two self concept assessments were completed. The Golden Profile personality assessment created by Dr. John Golden and Gallup Strengths Finder assessment (Golden 2015; Gallup, 2014). The results of the Strengths Finder assessment show that I prefer to accomplish goals and tasks with people, I enjoy deep relationships, empathizing with others, including individuals who may not always be included and the process of learning. I do not prefer having to be in a position to create new ideas, I will take charge in a situation when needed, but not until needed, and I do not prefer competition. The Golden profile of ESFZ According to the Golden profile assessment, I’m an outgoing friendly pragmatic detail oriented person who will take responsibility, while taking people into consideration. This personality type is ultra dependable and is often found as officers, founders, or chairs of working committees of companies; they enjoy establishing, nurturing and maintaining organizations.
